Yesterday, as part of the agenda on facilitating the process of integration of the Kosovo Serb areas that are still in the process of integration, UNMIK chief, Lamberto Zannier, visited Kosovo's northern town, Mitrovica.

There are several criteria that certain countries, including Serbia, need to fulfill to integrate into the European Union, and the recognition of Kosovo is a precondition for that, stated yesterday in Prishtina the German Minister for Europe, Günter Gloser.

Kosovo Prime Minister, Hashim Thaçi was invited last week by his Croatian counterpart, Ivo Sanader to attend the European Summit of prime ministers of the Southeastern Europe, which took place in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Since there are seven EU countries still in the process of deciding to recognize Kosovo as independent and sovereign, this does not potentially pose a problem for Kosovo’s integration process in the European Union.
