A date for Kosovo to declare independence from Serbia has been agreed by Albanian leaders and Western capitals, the prime minister of Kosovo said yesterday.

ImageKoha Ditore reports on minor incidents following the Serbian presidential poll in the northern part of Kosovo . Police were reportedly informed of an incident in Bosniak Mahalla, where several houses belonging to ethnic Albanians were painted with graffiti saying, “This is Serbia,” and the Serbian nationalistc 4-Cs sign.

Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Ramë Manaj said the meeting of the UN Security Council on Kosovo was very favourable because positive assessments about the progress in Kosovo were presented by both the UNMIK chief and Kosovo’s Prime Minister. He said the next step is the establishment of the EU mission in Kosovo. “The last session at the UN Security Council, once again, and I believe for the last time, proved that the solution to Kosovo’s political status should be sought outside the Security Council,” said Manaj.
