During a press conference, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi  announced that "Romania and Slovakia have recognized the Republic of Kosovo passports," expressing gratitude for both countries' contribution on maintaining the stability in the Balkans. Thaci also thanked Portugal for recognizing the independence of Kosovo.

Romania and Slovakia are two other countries that have not recognized Kosovo independence yet.

Serb Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac has stated for French paper "Le Figaro" that the European Union should as soon as possible open the door to Serbia, otherwise Serbia will seek other solutions with Russia.

President of the Liberal Democratic Party in Serbia, Cedomir Jovanovic, stated yesterday that the division of Kosovo is not in the spirit of European politics, which should lead Serbia.

Central Comission of Elections of Bosnian and Herzegovina has invited their Kosovar collegues of Central Election Comission of the Republic of Kosovo to monitor the Bosnian local elections on October 5, Bosnian daily Nezavisne Novine.
