He also neglected the fact that Somaliland was independent for a few days in 1960. This prior independence is the main rationale for the re-declaration of the Republic of Somaliland. - Damon

Thank you Owen.

I also noticed that, since all of his articles are always summed up with his last paragraph. I wish the editors will learn their lessons. This "Puntland" was Egyptian project which they assumed to use inorder to destroy Somaliland. However, events had turned few thing around in 1998 until Egypt saw its bearded and turbined clowns routed out by militias similar to today's "TFG of Somalia" with their Ethiopian backing.

Now the same culprits are busy with "Makhirland" again making claims to the territories of the former British Somaliland Protectorate purely for tribal reasons only. Google and you will find them.

Only God knows where it will end, but I see them having no progress at all.

Somalioland's world politics have not progressed only bcause we have no partners i.e Somalia which we united.

This article is bizarre. Somaliland exists as a functioning entity, Somalia doesn't. I don't know anything about the situation in Puntland but certainly the people of Somaliland have made good use of the time they have spent waiting for the rule of law to return to the rest of Somalia.

I find it very strange that you think it appropriate to publish articles at New Kosova Report that talk about "eradicating" people. - Owen

While Kosovo bases its claim on ethnicity, Somaliland instead seeks to regain its lost union with a country that does not exist anymore. It is shame other African countries do not recognise its uniqueness, and others such as this self styled egyptian "professor" makes a mockery out of a nation of 5 million trying hard to just live a normal and dignified lives.

Interestingly, such "professor" never criticises the dictator of Egypt and matters concerning the progress of that country. - Baby Face
