Anyone who has anything to do with the UN is a joker at the best of times. Ponte just joins the list of those who have made statements.

She is probably listening to Serbian interests who are trying to hide their crimes behind attacks on the Albanians. Okay, I admit, I am an Albanianphile. I lived and worked there for eight years, the happiest eight years of my life. The Albanians would view such actions as organ harvesting in the way stated as reprehensible.

It is true that there have been cases of suspected organ harvesting in Albania since the Kosova war, I knew of one in the central part of the country where I lived. But nothing was ever proven.

This whole thing is an attempt to undermine the freeing off Kosova from Serbian rule. War always brings out the worst in people, as stories coming from parts of Africa are showing. But don't tar all Albanians with this. And yes, let's see Ponte's evidence, or is she just going by word of mouth. - Peter Hodge

I would like to know if Behxhet Shala cares about people missing or displaced from Kosovo? Nobody was punished for pogrom in 2004, did he intervened? Or his Human Right organization defends rights of Albanians exclusively. Or perhaps Roma, Gorani, Serbs, etc, are not considered humans?
Here is my piece of advice to Albanians. US and EU treated you better then you deserve. However, if you continue to treat others the way you do, the whole support will evaporate quickly, and without it, sorry, you are nothing, zilch. - kinyc

What makes Behxhet Shala so well informed? Organ trafficking happened in may places in the world, it could happen in Kosovo. Fact that the Albanian officials from both Kosovo and Albania so vehemently deny del Ponte revelations and even attack her personally, make me think that they do have something to hide. If their hands are really clean then they should let independent international investigators conduct a probe.
There is clearly and attempt to silence the story: del Ponte forbidden promoting the book, spokeswoman from ICTY claiming the court 'did not find any evidence', while in fact no investigations was done. Del Ponte clearly has not been friend of Serbs. It stinks so much that I can smell it here in New York. - kinyc

Serbian Lies Dismissed by Human Rights Activists:

Carla del Ponte is trying to portray herself as balanced by spreading
allegations of Kosovo Albanians harvesting Serb organs during Kosovo war. In Belgrade, Natasha Kandic, the highly respected head of the
investigative Humanitarian Law Centre, said ordinary Serbs “welcome the publication of [Carla del Ponte’s] book” but said allegations of organ-smuggling were “rumours”. “I talked to her many times, she never told me about this,” said Miss Kandic.

and who the hell is Carla anyways???? It seems like a good way to make money. I should write my own book about some rumour I heard... that is in the current news, that will sure pick up and make me some money.

Carla del Ponte is a disgrace. Maybe she should dedicate her free time in investigating the "organ harvestings" of Albanian children who were massacred by Serbs, because they were "Albanian" - http://kosovaevidence.com

Supporting fully and totally what FLORA said:
“I fully support the CDHR's effort to sue Carla Del Ponte. Those are serious allegations against Kosovar Albanians, and do not contribute to the peace and stability of the Balkans. She has to disclose who her "trusted journalists" are, that were witness to the alledged inhumane treatment of the Serbs from Kosovo.”
The only two things I would like to add are:
Clara Del Ponte – TALK IS CHEAP, UNTIL YOU HIRE A GOOD LAWYER.
Clara Del Ponte has to provide solid, but not Circumstantial Evidence, in the court of LAW, and The Mafia-ridden Serb regime and their Terrorist State, has to be held accountable and responsible for all of theirs actions. They have to pay for more than 10000 killed Kosovars and 450000 homes, destroyed in Kosova by them.

I'm sceptical, but I wonder why Human Rights Watch have made an issue of the matter if there isn't something behind it. The most important thing if there is any substance to the allegations is for Kosovans to ensure that their government pursues the matter thoroughly, rather than hiding the criminals in safe houses and refusing to make them face justice. Kosova has criminals like every country in Europe. It's how they're dealt with that counts. - Owen

toni & serge,

No society in the world is crime&criminal free, however you fail to recognize that there are a majority of normal and honest ppl in Kosovo and those living in europe who work, earn and lead a normal everyday life..

serge,

if i'm to think same way as you (generalize) i'll go on for days talk about "eastern" block of countries (i.e.mafia,corruption, and above all prostitution), BUT i'm not gonna do it since i KNOW that there are good and bad ppl in every society and im not gonna let some simple dislike or hatred "close" my eyes..
