Kosovo has marked the fourth anniversary of its declaration of independence.
In Prishtina on Friday, thousands of people waving Kosovo and US flags watched a special parade of some 600 soldiers of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) on the capital’s main street.
“All citizens, without any difference, see the future of Kosovo in its full integration into the European Union, in NATO and in an everlasting friendship with the United States,” one of the champions of Kosovo’s independence, President Atifete Jahjaga told the crowd.
On the eve of Kosovo’s independence day, US President Barack Obama sent a telegram assuring Prishtina it “can count on America’s continued support”.
The message praised Kosovo’s leaders for making “significant progress in building a pluralistic and tolerant multi-ethnic democracy in the heart of the Balkans”. /skynewsaustralia/
